Carol Bodin

Weaving Fiber Arts

Carol Bodin has combined her loves of dyeing yarn and weaving for over 30 years. A resident of Ellicott City , MD , Carol weaves custom tallitot, tallit bags, kippot and challah covers. She has also woven synagogue pieces such as wall hangings, torah covers, a mizrach, ark curtains and a chuppah. Carol especially enjoys her Judaic work, knowing that it has personal meaning to her clients. A key aspect in creating one of her unique Judaic pieces is the design process. In the design process, Carol works very closely with her client to design a piece that exactly meets her client's specifications. She often weaves into the fabric biblical names and quotes. Carol also creates non-Judaic fiber art which can be seen at The Potomac Fiber Arts Gallery in the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria , Virginia . Her work has been exhibited throughout the country and she has received several awards for her pieces. She teaches dyeing classes locally. Carol is a member of the Potomac Fiber Arts Guild and the Weaver’s Guild of Greater Baltimore.
